In the case of multiple bookings, the system does not divide the bookings among the vendors but assigns some to one and some to another.(example: 2 booking of 10 trips to be divided among 2 vendors, the system assign 5 trip of booking A to vendor X and 5 to vendor Y and the same with booking B). This creates confusion and even cx and sales have asked us to divide the bookings between the carriers in order to avoid confusion.
We have to manage small suppliers who always operate the same trucks and we have to allocate trips based on the previous day's trip
For reefers than we have to choose the right trip for the right vendor following some rules we have (on Monday Containers Fidenza can only do trips in Piedmont from 10am onwards / Verona express only in the Parma or Piedmont area but only from 10am onwards, some night trips are assigned to vendors that don’t offer night trips etc. etc.)
Some vendors ask us for trips to return the trucks to the various bases/hubs and therefore the correct trip must be chosen based on the geographical area (especially on Friday)
We have to manage small suppliers who always operate the same trucks and we have to allocate reefer trips based on the reefer truck availability and choose the right trip based on the previous day’s trip.
As we have to maximize cargo on the company train Piacenza – Vado Ligure we have to choose trips near Piacenza and switch from RCO to truck and vice versa depending on the volumes we have on the train. This could be done several time as every new booking coming change the scenario.
IMO and CER trips have to be assigned to vendor that can do it that particular day, the system doesn’t know. (there is a set for DG but is quarterly basis while real capacity is daily based)
